Picatinny rail for Krico

Krico is a German rifle brand founded in 1878 in Esslingen am Zollberg. The company name is derived from the founding family's name, Kriegeskorte, and the factory produced precision rifles for hunting and competition for decades. A direct Scandinavian connection ties Krico to the region: in 1999, the company merged with Kongsberg Small Arms Company – the Norwegian rifle manufacturer closely associated with Kongsberg Våpenfabrikk. This is not a random link; both brands had an established market in the Nordic hunting and sport shooting community and shared a focus on quality production for a demanding user segment. The merger in 1999 linked the destinies of the two brands at a time when both faced challenges from larger international manufacturers.

Here you will find rails for Krico 600/700 Short Action and Krico 600/700 Long Action. Krico produces both action lengths, and they are not compatible in rail selection.

Short Action and Long Action on Krico 600/700

Krico 600 is the short action; Krico 700 is the long action. The two variants have different hole spacing and each requires its own Picatinny rail. Use the action designation as the first guide, and confirm with the A/B/C control measurementson the rifle. What the difference between short and long action specifically means for rail selection is explained in the guide on short action vs. long action.

Krico 902 – a separate platform

The Krico 902 is a newer model with a modular system and quick-change barrel. It does not share mounting standards with the 600/700 series. If you have a 902, you must check its specific measurements separately – a 600/700 rail will not fit a 902.

Material and use scenario

Krico rifles are typically used for precision shooting and hunting. A steel rail matches the precise German construction and provides stability for optics on target rifles. For lighter hunting setups, aluminum is sufficient. The material difference is covered in the guide on steel vs. aluminum for Picatinny.

Mounting

Mounting requires threadlocker and torque control. Thoroughly clean contact surfaces before mounting and remove all oil from threaded holes and contact surfaces. The procedure is described step by step in the mounting guide.

Check the A/B/C measurements on your rifle before ordering. The model designation alone is not sufficient confirmation of fit on an older German rifle like a Krico.
